Please, can someone plow the sidewalk on Lower Terrace between Genesee and Church? I work at the BPDTC building and walk to City Hall on Board of Education business every day. The sidewalk is not shoveled and walking in the street is dangerous. Thank you.

How dishearting. Walk out and in of City Hall today , Two huge signs no smoking and here stands four and five workers smoking under the signs. Went and made a complaint and came back down and more workers smoking in front of the signs. How does the Mayor expect people to abide by his laws when his own workers down even follow them. I stood there abt 45 min. waiting for a ride and the workers continued to come out and smoke in front of the signs, not even caring whaat the signs said. Took a few pictures and then the supervisor approached me asking why the pictures? I explained and he said we should discuss it. I told him no if he was the grounds supervisor he should be doing his job and making people abide by the no smoking signs. Apparently it happens on a daily basis according to the workers I talked to. They must have been rhe Mayor's family.

I live on N. Oak near the corner of Genessee over The Service 1st used appliance store. Though I have repeatedly complained to the "building manager" re: this issue, the complaints go unanswered and ignored. My chief complaint is the occupants of the appliance store CONTINUELY PARK ON THE SIDE WALK in front of the business even thogh there is a parking lot provided. They're large panelled trucks block the whole side walk and to top that, their personal vehicles are parked haphazardly all over the sidewalk in front of the store on a daily basis. For a while I didn't receive mail because the trucks completly obsturcted the mail carriers path. They also run their trucks inside the warehouse to warm them up before driving them. This causes an accumulation of exhaust to enter my apartment through vents and other openings. In the summer of 2010, there was a tree in front of the building that was in their "parking path" on the sidewalk, so they drove over it and killed it. The tree carcass still sits in the empty parking lot that seems unfit for their gigantic trucks and personal vehicles. The animal shelter is just up the street. I watch the volunteers and care takers have to circle into the street to walk the animals because the sidewalk is completley obstructed by their vehicles. This is an extremely dangerous corner because the exit from rt 33 is right there, people drive a hundred miles an hour and tailgate so there is no time to stop or even slow down if someone has to walk in the street. Maybe when someone gets hurt or killed this issue will be adequately addressed. I have called the Buffalo Police to inquire about this situation and was told "well, anytime anyone parks on the sidewalk, there is a risk of ticketing," however, not one time have any of these vehicles been ticketed. I'm considering advertising free public parking for people who work and live in the city and have to actually abide by the city parking ordinances and pay to park. Why not, parking is at a premium and it's very expensive. Why pay to park when you can park your vehicle right infront of this store everyday with impunity? This same building owner, owns the building right on the corner of Genessee and N. Oak and the sidewalk has never once been plowed or cleared for walking. It's no wonder this place is a ghost town after 6PM. Try parking on the sidewalk in front of your business in Amherst...

why does this city make it so hard to recycle? if you call to complain about trash not being picked up, you are combated by ignorant people who want to critique your complaint and threaten you with a ticket. i know where i live, have lived here for 3 years. why do i need to give them an address on another street to get anything accomplished? no supervisor or management to complain to. go ahead allow your employees to do whatever they wish all day and see how well your "business" is working for you. bring me a damn recycling bin!!!i am one of three people whom recycle on my street. they deliver new bins days ago. what's wrong with my house?
